At this year's SEMA show, Kia proved they quite literally have game, by introducing a team of five custom models targeting  surfers, basketball fans, hockey fans, golfers and track fans. Let's start with the Rio5 prepped for the forthcoming Sports Car Club of America B-spec racing series, shall we?

Kia Sales Up 37.1 Percent This Year

Kia continues to surprise the press and car enthusiasts by consistently exceeding expectations. The latest news from quickly-growing Kia yet again resets expectations. In nine months, Kia beat all of their previously held annual sales records - and we still have a few months left in 2011!

Kia Motors America (KMA) recently announced that as of September, they have set new sales records for 13 consecutive months. The 18.4-percent (35,609 units) increase over this time last year is largely attributed to sales of the American-built Kia Sorento, and the well-received Kia Optima.

Q2 Profits for Kia Up Nearly 70 Percent

At the end of July, Kia posted a consolidated net profit of 1.1-trillion Korean won (approximately $1-billion), for Q2 2011, exceeding forecasts by 187-billion Korean won (about $178-million). Talk about impressive! Achieving even 913-billion Korean won would have been noteworthy. And, to top it all off, in the U.S. alone, Kia succeeded in gaining nearly one full percent of market share in Q2.

2012 Kia Sorento Ranks at the Top of ALG's 36-Month Residual Value Index

The Sorento has been Kia's best-selling vehicle for 16 consecutive months, since it first hit dealerships about a year-and-a-half ago.
