The Kia Niro Plug-In Hybrid uses a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 104 horsepower and 106 pound-feet of torque. It also adds a powerful electric motor that produces 83 horsepower and 150 pound-feet of torque and a 360-volt Lithium-Ion Polymer battery pack. The gas-electric combination produces roughly 180 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. It achieves an EPA-estimated 33 miles of all-electric driving range and 108 MPGe combined. The plug-in hybrid is charged in under three hours using a 120-volt charger.

Interior & Exterior

The exterior of the Kia Niro Plug-In Hybrid boasts elegant styling, featuring sleek lines curving around the hood from its understated front grille. Each trim level offers standard features like roof rails, LED taillights, and LED daytime running lights. The higher trim level offers 18-inch wheels, a smart power tailgate, a front chrome skid plate, and LED projector headlights.

Inside, the cabin is spacious, offering 105.1 cubic feet of passenger room, of which 39.8 inches is rear legroom. You'll also get 54.6 cubic feet of cargo space. Its contemporary design uses partially recycled plastic materials and easy-to-care-for synthetic leather.

The Kia Niro Plug-In Hybrid offers Virginia drivers luxury comfort and convenience features with a heated steering wheel, a heated and ventilated 10-way adjustable power lumbar support seat, and an integrated memory system. The passenger's seat is heated and has a six-way manually adjustable control. The interior is quiet by design, thanks to sound-absorbing windshield and front-door window glass. There's also a power sunroof to let in natural light during the day and artificial ambient and LED interior lighting at night.
