What's New for the 2025 Kia K5?
In 2025, the Kia K5 primarily has aesthetic updates. This year's Kia has some new styling on the front and rear ends, which includes new headlight and taillight designs. The K5 also has some interior styling updates and a modified engine that gives it more power and speed than the previous year.
Hybrid Features
Kia has released a hybrid model of the K5 internationally, but a K5 hybrid has not yet reached American markets. Kia may add a hybrid model to the lineup in the near future, so those wanting a hybrid version of the sedan should stay tuned for further announcements from Kia.
Performance
The Kia K5 is available with two different engines. The base engine that powers most trim levels is a 2.5L four-cylinder engine with a power output of 191 horsepower. This engine uses an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is the Kia’s standard drivetrain, and you can get all-wheel drive as an alternative. The GT trim level has even more power with a stronger turbo engine that produces 290 horsepower and 311 pound-feet of torque. This trim level also has a unique eight-speed automatic transmission with dual-clutch technology. Along with the more powerful engine, this trim level has other performance-oriented features such as larger brakes, wider tires, bigger rims, and a unique suspension system. With the base engine, the Kia accelerates from zero-60 MPH in a speedy 5.2 seconds. Acceleration time is a bit less with the more powerful engine, and it decreases to 5.0 seconds with a shorter stopping time.
Safety
The Kia K5 has standard automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection. Lane-keep assist and lane departure warning are standard safety components with the Kia K5, and adaptive cruise control is another handy safety amenity. All trim levels have airbags as well.
Technology
As for technology, the Kia K5 won’t leave you disappointed. The Kia has a large, user-friendly 12.3-inch touchscreen display with a gauge cluster. On some models, the gauge cluster is customizable to show the features and vehicle information that’s most important. Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay come with the Kia K5, and you can add on some additional upgrades, such as a Bose sound system.
Trim Highlights
The Kia K5 is produced in four trims.
The base model is the LXS. This trim level has black cloth seats and five-passenger seating. The interior is spacious, and people will find plenty of room in both rows. A push-button start and smart key are standard.
The GT-Line has synthetic leather upholstery, a leather steering wheel, and more seating color options.
The GT has rear air conditioning vents and dual-zone climate control.
With the EX comes heated and ventilated front seats.
