Many of us during the holiday season find ourselves having to transport a dish of prepared food to a holiday function with family or friends. It can be helpful to plan out your strategy for driving with food in advance. That is why our team here at Hyman Bros. Kia in Midlothian thought it would a good idea to put together a list of tips and ideas for stress-free food transportation.

  • Try to make sure that you are transporting the food in a container that is spill-proof. If it has a lid that will pass the spill test in your kitchen, then it should do just as well on the road.
  • See if you can get someone to hold food containers for you while you drive. Passengers can keep an eye (and a hand) on them to make sure that your food stays steady.
  • Utilize a cardboard box that is secured with a seatbelt to keep it from moving around and spilling while you drive. This is especially helpful with items that have a liquid like a sauce or gravy.
