If you're in the market for a hybrid that has everything you want and nothing you don't, Pence Kia would like to recommend the award winning Kia Optima Hybrid. This vehicle has the ability to keep you away from the pump for long periods of time without sacrificing anything in regards to performance. There is no question as to why so many have come from the greater Midlothian area to visit our Kia showroom for a closer look at the Optima Hybrid and to take it for a test drive.

After looking over the specs for the 2013 model, we're sure this year will see continued  growth in sales volume and popularity. The 2013 Kia Optima Hybrid has seen improvements in nearly every aspect of the vehicle: efficiency, performance, utility and technology.

What are some of these improvements?

Let's start with everyone's favorite topic: fuel economy. Using a more powerful 47 kW lithium polymer battery, the 2013 Kia Optima Hybrid is projected to provide an EPA-estimated 36 mpg city, 40 highway and 38 combined.

Truthfully, this did decrease the overall horsepower of the Optima Hybrid which was once 206 and is now 199. However, Kia managed to compensate for this by increasing the vehicle's responsiveness. Torque was improved from 195 to 235 lb.-ft.

How about some cabin improvements?

  1. The new, smaller and more powerful battery allowed for an increase in trunk size.
  2. More features have become standard on the EX trim including a back-up camera and 8-speaker Infinity audio system.
