As humans, we are bound to make mistakes as we progress forward with our goals and challenges. It takes a big person to own up to their wrong doings and take corrective actions to amend what was put forth on others. In our case it takes a strong, loyal company.
Kia has announced that it plans to amend their recent fuel economy miss-labeling on effected new Kia models. At Pence Kia we are pleased to know Kia is owning up to their mistake and is releasing details regarding how they plan to compensate those inconvenienced by their error.
Current models receiving erred fuel economy ratings include the Kia Optima Hybrid, Rio, Sorento, Soul, and Sportage. While most were only off by 1-2 mpg, Kia being the perfectionists they are plan to pay above the difference.
As noted in Green Car Reports, "The reimbursement will be based on the period over which the owners have had the vehicles, and reflect the gas they would have saved had the cars hit the stated mileage - plus 15 percent."1
Kia plans to offer this reimbursement through the end of 2013 giving drivers of the miss-labeled models plenty of time to act. Owners can go to their local Kia dealership to have their odometers read and be compensated accordingly.
