Keeping Your Distance In The Rain

Although it can be intimidating, there are a few tips to keep in mind so that you stay safe while driving in the rain. Always turn your headlights on so that other drivers can see you. If you have your windshield wipers on, then it's usually a law to have your headlights on until they are turned off.

Make sure you increase the distance between you and the driver in front of you. When the road is wet, it usually takes longer to come to a stop. If you're following someone in the rain as you would when the road is dry, then you might find that you can't get stopped as you expect.

When it's raining, you need to decrease your speed. The speed limits that you see on the roads are for dry conditions instead of those that result in wet and slippery surfaces. If you think that you can continue at a high rate of speed, then it could result in hydroplaning.
